What LVP is
Luxury vinyl plank is a layered floor: a rigid or flexible core, a printed design layer that mimics wood or stone, and a clear wear layer on top that resists scratches and scuffs. Click-lock vs. glue-down
Click-lock planks lock together and float over the subfloor. They install quickly and suit most rooms. Glue-down vinyl bonds directly to the subfloor, which is quieter and more stable in large open areas, sunrooms with temperature swings, and some commercial-style spaces. We’ll recommend the right system for your rooms.
Prep is what makes LVP look good
LVP is thin enough that dips and humps in the subfloor show through, and uneven spots can stress the locking joints. We check flatness at the measurement and include leveling or subfloor repair in the price. Over slab, we check moisture before anything goes down.
How an LVP job runs
- Free on-site measurement: every room measured, subfloor and moisture checked, transitions planned.
- Clear scope and price, including prep, old flooring removal if requested, and stairs.
- Prep and install: leveling, underlayment where specified, then the floor.
- Finish: transitions, thresholds, stair nosing, and trim.
A single room is often a one-day job; a typical whole-home LVP install runs two to four days.
